Hilaria Baldwin Suffers Another Miscarriage at 4 Months Along

Hilaria Baldwin revealed on her Instagram last night that she had suffered a miscarriage at 4 months pregnant. In the heartbreaking post, Baldwin is seen laying in bed with her 6-year-old daughter, Carmen. She doesn’t quite understand what’s happened and asks her mom questions about the baby. Baldwin tearfully replies, “Mommy’s sad,” and Carmen, who understands that something is wrong, hugs and kisses her mother.

In the caption, Baldwin explains that this was not what she had expected when she went in for her doctor’s appointment. “We are very sad to share that today we learned that our baby passed away at 4 months. We also want you to know that even though we are not ok right now, we will be. We are so lucky with our 4 healthy babies—and we will never lose sight of this,” Baldwin wrote. “I’m really devastated right now…I don’t know what else to say…I’m still in shock and don’t have this all quite clear.”

She later shared in her Instagram stories that it would be her last night with baby. This is Baldwin’s second miscarriage in seven months, as she suffered a loss earlier this year back in April. In spite of the tragic news, Baldwin is staying hopeful and trying to see the beauty where she can—and it’s heartwarming to see.

In her Instagram stories this morning, she wrote, “Today opened and it was not a nightmare…just a sad reality. Thank you for all of your kind and sympathetic words. I didn’t know so many tears existed in the body. I’m trying to be present for my grief but understand that life goes on and there is still beauty, even in darkness.” She also posted a video of her kids with the caption, “This is beauty, and I see it,” as well as a picture of herself before her appointment. “I’m off. Remove jewelry, makeup free, comfy clothes, painkillers for after,” she wrote over the selfie.

A miscarriage can be one of the most heartbreaking experiences. Sadly, up to 25% of pregnancies end in miscarriage. But the more we talk about it, the less likely people are to feel alone.
